Farm Information & Future Plans

Frequently asked questions about Harvell Farm and our commitment to heritage breeding.

Why do you raise Kune Kune pigs?

We actually started out with a traditional meat pig, but quickly realized we wanted a different kind of experience—something our kids could truly be part of and connect with. That’s what led us to Kune Kune pigs.

Kune Kunes are a special heritage breed known for their gentle, friendly nature, which makes them perfect for families. Our kids can interact with them daily, and they’ve truly become part of our farm family—not just livestock.

We also love that they thrive on pasture and, unlike many breeds, don’t root and tear up the land—something we believe is incredibly beneficial for maintaining healthy, sustainable pasture. For us, Kune Kunes are the perfect balance of purpose and personality—animals we’re proud to raise and our kids are proud to love.

Are you planning to add other animals to the farm?

Yes! Harvell Farm is growing. We are excited to announce plans to expand our heritage breeding program to include sheep and specialty chicken breeds in the very near future as part of our mission to preserve quality stock.

When will farm products be available for purchase?

We are working hard to bring our high-quality products to your table. Pasture-raised pork, specialty meats, and farm-fresh eggs will be available for purchase soon. Stay tuned for updates and availability!

What are your payment terms for animal reservations?

To reserve an available animal, a 25% deposit is due, and the remaining balance is due in full at the time of pickup.
